Overview
This mission connects a Copilot Studio agent to Docusign's certified MCP integration — a server that has gone through Microsoft's connector certification process and is published in the official connector ecosystem. The agent collects agreement inputs from users through natural language, then hands off to Docusign Workflow Builder to run the complete agreement process: Web Forms, routing, and e-signature collection. No agreement logic is rebuilt inside Copilot Studio — the agent acts as the intake layer, and Docusign handles the downstream workflow it already owns. The mission also covers what enterprise MCP certification means in practice: packaging quality checks, behavior validation, security and compliance review, and responsible AI evaluation before a server reaches broad availability.
What I Built
- Built a Copilot Studio agent using the GitHub Copilot harness and connected it to the Docusign MCP Demo server, a Microsoft-certified MCP integration in the connector ecosystem.
- Configured the agent to collect agreement data through natural-language conversation, then trigger Docusign Workflow Builder to run Web Forms, routing, and signing end-to-end without rebuilding any agreement logic inside the agent.
- Extended the flow with a calendar follow-up tool via a second MCP connection, scheduling post-signing review meetings automatically from the same agent session.
- Reviewed the enterprise trust model for certified MCP servers: what Microsoft validates before certification, how security and compliance checks differ from uncertified integrations, and what responsible deployment still requires on the implementer's side.
- Provisioned a Docusign developer account and configured Web Forms as lab prerequisites, demonstrating the end-to-end setup path for a certified third-party MCP integration.
