This matters for enterprise deployments: when agents are expressed as code files, they can be stored in source control, reviewed in pull requests, diffed across versions, and deployed through automated pipelines — bringing standard software engineering practices to agent lifecycle management. This is the foundation for treating agents as first-class software artifacts rather than low-code configurations.
What I Built
- Authored Copilot Studio agent definitions, topics, and configuration directly in YAML using VS Code, working outside the Studio canvas UI.
- Managed the full agent as a set of code files: edited, validated, and applied changes without relying on the drag-and-drop authoring experience.
- Packaged YAML-defined agents inside Power Platform solutions and explored how this pattern integrates with source control and environment promotion workflows.
- Established a code-first agent authoring pattern applicable to CI/CD pipelines, peer code review, and enterprise ALM processes where the Studio UI alone is insufficient for governance requirements.
